How to read the data
- Each value is published in the base shown (base year = 100): 1995 up to 2010, 2010 from 2011 to 2015, 2015 from 2016 to 2025, 2025 from 2026.
- Values in different bases cannot be compared directly: Istat prescribes linking coefficients between bases.
- Since February 1992 the index excludes tobacco (law no. 81 of 5 February 1992, art. 4).
